Bord na nOg.
Annual Report 2003

2003 was a great year for Knocknagoshel Bord na nOg. There was great interest in our activities by the boys and girls of the parish. A big effort was made by all the officers and mentors to get as many as possible involved. Coaching took place in the schools every week and this helped to encourage more children to play during the year.

The year began with a very successful Parish League in March. 54 boys and girls took part. We also took a group to Killarney to see Kerry v Dublin in the National League.

We took part in North Kerry competitions for the first time in a number of years and won the U12 Div 2 Championship.

The Girls U12 took part in the County League for the first time ever and reached the Div 3 County Final.

The following is a summary of how the teams performed during the year:

U8: Played a number of challenge matches winning all but one,
U10: Won District 15-a-side 'B' Final.
U12: Won North Kerry Div 2 Championship.
U14: Competed in very strong groups in County and Districts.
U16: Knock/Brosna Competed in County League and Castleisland District .

Girls: Competed in Community Games, County U12&U13 Blitz, reached County League Div 3 Final and Kerins O' Rahillys Tournament Final.

We also took part in Scor na nOg, competing in eight events in the District and reaching the County Semi-Final in four and the County Final in one.

Knocknagoshel N.S. Boys took part in North Kerry Mini-Sevens, won the Simon Keane Trophy, took part in Cummann na mBunscoil and in the skills competition.
Knock N.S. Girls took part in North Kerry Mini-Sevens.

Loughfouder N.S. Boys reached area final of 2 teacher Cummann na mBunscoil and took part in Mini-Sevens and the skills competition.

Our prize giving night in Nov with Seamus Moynihan was a great success.
We would like to thank all those who helped during the year- officers, mentors, schoolteachers, parents, caretaker at the field, referees, those who worked in the burger hut, our sponsors, and the local Comhaltas group who helped with Scor.

Also Fr O'Shea and the local correspondents for the papers.

We always require more help and would welcome anybody who would like to get involved in any way.
